- TERMS AND CONDITIONS – DOOR TO DOOR MOVERS
- Definitions
In these conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:
- Door To Door Movers / We / Us / Our means Just Quote Pty Ltd (ABN 14 672 960 459).
- You / Your means the person entering into this agreement for Services with Us and includes the person to whom Our quotation is addressed and by whom acceptance is given.
- Goods means all furniture, personal effects and other items that are the subject of the Services.
- Services means all work undertaken by Us in connection with the Goods, including removal and, if applicable, storage.
- Subcontractor means any person or entity other than Our employee who performs any part of the Services under arrangement with Us.
- We Are Not Common Carriers
We are not common carriers and accept no liability as such.
We reserve the right to refuse to quote for or carry any Goods or classes of goods at Our discretion.- Your Obligations and Warranties
3.1 Information Supplied
You warrant that all information provided by You and relied upon by Us in preparing any quotation or estimate is accurate and complete.
3.2 Ownership or Authority
You warrant that You are either the owner of the Goods or the authorised agent of the owner.
3.3 Presence at Loading and Unloading
You must ensure that You or an authorised representative is present at loading and unloading.
If no authorised person is present, You must sign a waiver form.3.4 Dangerous Goods
You warrant that the Goods do not include firearms or any dangerous, corrosive, flammable, explosive, noxious or pest-attracting substances unless disclosed to Us in writing prior to loading or storage.
We may refuse to handle such items. If discovered after receipt, We may take reasonable action (including disposal) without liability.3.5 Fragile and Valuable Items
You must provide written notice before commencement of Services of:
- Fragile or brittle items not reasonably apparent, and
- Jewellery, artwork, collections, money, precision equipment or any item valued over $1,000.
3.6 Goods Left Behind or Taken in Error
You must ensure all Goods intended for removal are uplifted and that no Goods are taken in error.
- Method of Carriage, Subcontractors and Ancillary Services
4.1 Mode of Carriage
We may transport Goods by any reasonable route and method, including road, sea, rail or air, and may arrange third-party carriage as Your agent.
4.2 Subcontractors
We may engage Subcontractors to perform all or part of the Services and remain responsible for performance of the Services.
4.3 Liability Extension
Any limitation of liability applies equally to Our employees and Subcontractors. We act as agent or trustee for those parties for this purpose.
4.4 Ancillary Services
We may arrange ancillary services at Your request as Your agent. We accept no liability for loss or damage arising from those services, except where Goods are deemed to be in Our possession due to inability to establish otherwise.
- Delivery
5.1 Delivery Conditions
Delivery will only be made to You or a person authorised in writing.
If delivery cannot occur due to lack of access, absence of an authorised person, or reasons beyond Our control, Goods may be placed into storage at Your cost.Charges apply as follows:
- Storage: $110 per week
- Double handling: $390 (one-off)
- Re-delivery: $100 per half hour
- Additional distance over 70 km (round trip): $3 per km
- Rail charges apply where applicable
5.2 Delivery Sheet
You must sign the delivery sheet.
Failure to object within 48 hours makes the delivery sheet conclusive evidence of Goods delivered.- Storage Conditions
6.1 Inventory
We will prepare an inventory of visible items only unless contents listing is requested (additional charges apply).
Failure to object within 48 hours makes the inventory conclusive.6.2 Contact Details
You must provide and maintain a current contact address.
6.3 Price Changes
Storage charges are fixed for the first 13 weeks. Thereafter, charges may change with 28 days’ written notice.
6.4 Warehouse Transfer
We may move Goods between warehouses at no cost to You (5 days’ notice unless emergency).
6.5 Inspection
Inspection is permitted by appointment and may incur a reasonable fee.
6.6 Removal from Storage
A minimum of 7 working days’ notice is required for removal from storage. All delivery requests are subject to availability within our scheduled transport runs, and we cannot guarantee delivery within the requested notice period.6.7 Compulsory Removal and Sale
If Goods are not collected after written notice, We may sell Goods by auction or online and apply proceeds to outstanding amounts.
6.8 Disposal
Unsold Goods may be disposed of or acquired by Us for $1.
6.9 Storage Charges
6.9.1 Free Storage:
Up to 2 weeks of free storage applies to new customers only for full container loads, where this offer is confirmed in writing at the time of booking or prior to pickup.6.9.2 Partial Loads / Less Than Container:
For any job less than a full container load, double handling charges will apply:- Minimum charge: $250
6.9.3 Storage Fees & Payment Terms:
- Storage charges are payable weekly in advance
- If payment is not received within 3 days of the due date, a $25 late fee will apply
- A final notice will be issued for collection if payment remains outstanding
7 Charges and Payments
7.1 Variations and Delays
Additional charges apply where work varies or delays occur beyond Our control.
7.2 Transit Delays
We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, breakdowns, rail derailments, flooding, peak season congestion or backloading capacity issues.
7.3 Parking Fees
You are responsible for all parking fees and fines.
7.4 Local Jobs
- Minimum 2 hours plus 30 minutes travel (up to 30 km)
- Additional distance: $3 per km
- Charged in 30-minute intervals
7.5 Interstate Jobs – Access, Loading and Waiting Charges
Our interstate quotations are based on standard ground-floor pickup and delivery access, with no stairs, lift access, or difficult access.
The quote assumes:
- Close street parking or designated truck parking within 25 metres of the property entry
- Suitable access for a large truck up to 15 metres long and approximately 3.5 to 4.3 metres high
- Goods are packed, ready, and available for loading at the scheduled time
- The inventory and cubic metre space provided by the customer is accurate
Additional charges may apply where:
- Parking is more than 25 metres from the property entry
- There are stairs, lift access, long carry, narrow access, or other difficult access conditions
- The truck cannot park in the designated or suitable parking area
- The customer’s goods are not ready or not properly packed at the time of pickup
- The customer has extra items or requires more space than listed in the agreed inventory
- Additional waiting, loading, handling, or access time is required
Any extra charges will be assessed based on the actual access conditions, waiting time, additional items, or additional cubic metres required on the day.
7.6 Date Changes
Any alteration to confirmed pickup or delivery dates may incur additional charges.
All communication regarding date changes must be made in writing via email.
7.7–7.9 Cancellations & Deposits
- Local deposits are non-refundable
- Interstate deposits refundable within 48 hours from , except last-minute bookings made within 7 days of pickup date.
- Deposits: 20% interstate / 1 hour local
7.10 Refused Delivery
Storage and handling charges apply if delivery is refused.
7.11 Card Surcharges
- Amex: 2.0%
- Visa/Mastercard: 1.5%
- Loss or Damage
Services are subject to the Australian Consumer Law where applicable.
Liability applies only to loss caused by Our negligence.
No liability applies where:- Packing was not performed by Us
- Goods were inherently fragile
- Insurance was declined
Maximum liability without insurance:
- $50 per item or box
- $400 total per job
Missing Items must be reported before the team leaves
Damage items must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.
Our negligence is covered only if you have booked our standard packing and unpacking service (for more information, please visit our website).
Items that were unpacked or loosely packed by the customer are not covered under negligence.
- Insurance
We recommend You obtain insurance.
Standard cover includes:
- Public Liability: $20,000,000
- Transit Insurance: up to $50,000
- Excess: $1,000
- Variation and Notices
10.1 Variation
Only valid if agreed in writing by an authorised officer.
10.2 Notices
Notices may be delivered by hand, post or electronic mail.
- Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the state or territory in which it is made.
